Registration Resources

Registration opens on March 25 for Summer 2024 and April 1st for Fall 2024 for Undergraduates and Graduate Students. Don’t get left behind and start today!

1. Clear Your Holds
   • Check your Navigate to quickly see if you have any holds.
   • Review your to-do list on CUNYfirst. This will also have your enrollment appointment, and how to clear your holds.
2. Run your Degree Works Audit
   • DegreeWorks will allow you to view your progress toward your major.
   • View your general requirements including: number of credits, courses taken, courses currently being taken, GPA, and much more.
   • The courses listed on the left are for major, minor, and Liberal Arts electives. Suggestion for other courses are listed on the right with links.
   • Process and review your audit and have an undergraduate academic advisor or graduate academic advisor confirm your choices.
3. Check your FACTS
   • The Financial Aid Eligibility and Certification Tracking System (FACTS) is an online financial aid tool that will help you understand and monitor eligibility for the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP), Aid for Part Time Study (APTS) and some HESC scholarships. FACTS determines eligibility to receive an award each semester.
   • Use FACTS each semester to determine your eligibility.
   • Review your TAP Compliance, your TAP Guide, and TAP FAQ’s.
4. Enrollment Appointments:
   • Enrollment/Registration appointments is the day and time you can begin registering for courses.
     • In your Student Center -> “Course Planning and Enrollment” -> “Enrollment Dates” -> Select term you will be enrolling in.

1. Schedule Builder
   • A visual tool designed for you to explore, plan, and build your class schedule.
   • With this tool, you can arrange selected courses into a conflict-free timetable grid, making it easier to see what available options best fits into your personal and academic lives. For more information, Schedule Builder .
2. Make an appointment with an Academic Advisor

Understanding the instruction mode of a class is extremely important. On CUNYfirst, it will indicate if your class is in person, hybrid, or fully online. If it is fully online, make sure you know if it’s Synchronous/Asynchronous. Learn more about the differences here.

Degree Works – Student Degree Audit System is a web-based application that allows students to view their progress towards a degree. It lists all of your requirements including: courses taken, courses currently being taken, skills assessment tests, transfer credits and much more.

Schedule Builder is a real-time class scheduling tool that enables students to plan and register for courses that meet their schedules and other needs. With this tool, students can easily arrange class schedules that fit their personal and academic lives.

Departmental permission is no longer needed to register for Natural Sciences Pathways (non-major) courses. Starting Spring 2024, you can register for whichever laboratory course and whichever lecture course you wish; they are no longer co-requisites. Zicklin Waitlist

You can use the waitlist feature when a class is full and a waitlist option is available. You are allowed to be waitlisted for a maximum of 8 units in any given semester. All waitlists are processed through CUNYfirst on a first-come, first-served basis.
