Classes and Courses Course Modality/Mode of Instruction

Understanding the instruction mode of a class is extremely important. On CUNYfirst, it will indicate if your class is in person, hybrid, or fully online. If it is fully online, make sure you know if it’s Synchronous/Asynchronous. Learn more about the differences here.

Degree Works

Degree Works – Student Degree Audit System is a web-based application that allows students to view their progress towards a degree. It lists all of your requirements including: courses taken, courses currently being taken, skills assessment tests, transfer credits and much more.

Schedule Builder

Schedule Builder is a real-time class scheduling tool that enables students to plan and register for courses that meet their schedules and other needs. With this tool, students can easily arrange class schedules that fit their personal and academic lives.

Science Courses

Departmental permission is no longer needed to register for Natural Sciences Pathways (non-major) courses. Starting Spring 2024, you can register for whichever laboratory course and whichever lecture course you wish; they are no longer co-requisites. Tuition and Fees Zicklin Waitlist

Zicklin Waitlist

You can use the waitlist feature when a class is full and a waitlist option is available. You are allowed to be waitlisted for a maximum of 8 units in any given semester. All waitlists are processed through CUNYfirst on a first-come, first-served basis.
